I cannot wait for Fall!

I have been so miserable in this mid-90 degree weather and already want the crisp, chill nip of fall. I wanted it to be fall back in May, haha...
So in light of my ansty summer-itis, I decided to try out a few new scarf patterns! I loved how they turned out and cannot wait to get myself some cute boots to wear with them! What do you think?
This is a braided crochet pattern. I think it's so unique!
I sell this one for $25. Message me if you'd like to order one!

I love how the pattern compliments the color!
I sell this one for $30. Message me if you'd like one!

I'm baaaaaaaaack!

It has been one CRAZY BUSY summer, but I am back!
I have missed crocheting so much and haven't had much time to work on any projects. I did happen to find the time back in July to make a good friend a college afghan for his new journey at BYU this year. Good luck, Tyler!
This was an enormous afghan! Approximately, it measures 6 1/2 feet x 5 feet!

If you haven't already, I greatly recommend getting a quilt ladder! I received mine last week, and I absolutely love it! The company is Fransico Woodworks and Primitive, found on eBay. They come in several choices of color at VERY excellent prices (free shipping!) I'm getting another one that will be a bit bigger, which will motivate me to keep making a lot more afghans!
Getting ready to make a lot more afghans to fill the rungs!

Because everyone needs a scrap blanket...

I've always wanted to have something "homey" in our apartment, and what better than a scrap blanket! My tub-o-yarn was overflowing with partial balls of various colors of yarn, and I thought it would be fun to use them all! This is what turned out!

I'm an auntie again!

My big sister, Courtney, and her Fijian husband, Billy, just welcomed their baby, Viliame, into the world last week! He looks so precious and so sweet, that I had a make a couple things for him! I can't wait to meet him and visit with Courtney's other 2 children as well!

Billy wasted no time putting his graphic design degree to use!

For the love of crafting...

Just can't help but feel a proud accomplishment when I make gifts and other things for people! I love the reaction on people's faces, which is why I do what I do!

Brady and Evan

So, my older brother, Brady, and his wife and son, Dreidy and Evan, went to visit my mom, who still lives back in Minnesota, where I grew up. He had seen the beard hat that I made for Chuck, and wanted some for him and Evan to have for the cold weather- no problem! I whipped together a beanie and two beards for each of them, and because I couldn't resist, I made an Angry Birds hat for Evan as well!
The picture is a little blurry, but they turned out quite nice! What do you think?

Cozy Toes

I wanted to think of something to make for my sister, Cammy, for her birthday coming up on the 10th, and I thought of these! I whipped these puppies up in no time! She just moved into a beautiful new home with the main floor being all hard wood, I know she'll love to walk around with her tootsies warm and comfortable. Happy Birthday, Cammy!

The Bearded Man - My Husband!

So I've seen a lot of these 'beard hats' and I just had to make one for my husband! He has brown hair, but for some reason has a reddish-colored beard. So, instead of getting typical brown yarn for his beard, I chose a chestnut-colored one to mimic his natural color.

Boy, did we get a laugh out of this one!
My husband is such a good sport!
Please leave me a comment if you are interested in a beard hat for yourself!

Scarfin' It Up

I could HARDLY wait to post this particular project that I've been doing for the past few months. So far, I've made about 30 or more of these infinity scarves! I work in a lab, and because it's so cold in there (usually about 60-63 degrees - brrr!),
over my lab coat I started wearing my own infinity scarves.
Well, I caught some interest, and have been selling these around the lab!
They are so fun and easy to throw over any outfit; I love pulling my hair up in a high ponytail, and throwing on the blue one that gives any of my outfits a punch of color!

Please leave me a comment if you are interested in purchasing your own infinity scarf!

Fun Fall Afghans

When the weather turns more chilly and the nights feel cozier, what better project to work on than a warm blanket? Especially when the blanket is covering your legs as you're still working on it :o)
This blanket has hidden kitties... Can you see them?

This was my first try at a ripple afghan!

Part of Your World

One of my favorite projects that I've really enjoyed are these mermaid dolls! My nieces, Avery and Maile, had birthdays back in April and in August, respectively.
As I have been broadening my crocheting creations, I thought what better way to give a unique and fun gift! I have another niece, Braiya, who is next in line to get one!

My First Project

This is the very first project I ever crocheted! I decided to learn how to crochet on something I would use and/or keep.... and maybe because I have a little bit of 'baby fever.'  These are 0-3 mo baby booties.

Please leave me a comment if you are interested in some of the booties! They make a wonderful baby shower gift!

Hello and Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my new blog! I'm so happy you stopped by! I never thought I would actually have a place to call my very own on this big, vast internet, but here I am! I am so excited to have you here and join me in my crocheting adventures!

To introduce myself, my name is Quincy, and I am a self-taught crochet enthusiast! To give a brief background, I hail from Huntington Beach, California, and I'm the youngest of eleven kids: seven boys and four girls in total. When I was 10, I moved to Brainerd, Minnesota with my 3 sisters and 2 brothers, where we lived on a 26-acre hobby farm (cows, pigs, and all!). It was in the 7th grade where I met my husband, Chuck. We had always good been friends, but we didn't date until our senior year of high school.

My desires to pursue my education brought me to Shawnee, Kansas when I was 19, and I lived there for 3 years before marrying Chuck in 2007 and moving to Newport News, Virginia, where he was stationed at the Norfolk Naval Station for the past 4 years. While living in Virginia, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Christopher Newport University with my Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry.

We now live in the beautiful state of North Carolina!

I will be posting more about my crocheting projects, so be sure to check back frequently to see what's new!
